Johannesburg—African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) expects headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, to rise to between 1, 544 cents and 1, 682 cents, according to a trading statement released by the diversified mining company.
The expected increase reflects stronger earnings during the year as ARM benefited from developments across its mining portfolio.
ARM said its basic earnings for FY2026 include a R241 million profit from the disposal of Sakura and a R462 million gain related to Nkomati. The company had previously reported that gains linked to Sakura and its Nkomati interest were contributing significantly to basic earnings.
The company operates across a range of commodities, including platinum group metals, iron ore, manganese, chrome, nickel and coal, with an additional strategic investment in gold.
The latest trading statement comes as ARM continues to advance major projects across its portfolio. In July, the company approved a phased R15.2 billion development of its Bokoni platinum project and plans to restart operations at its Nkomati nickel mine.
ARM's latest earnings outlook highlights the continued importance of commodity prices, portfolio restructuring and operational developments to the performance of South Africa's diversified mining sector.
