Kampala—Fitch Ratings has affirmed Uganda’s long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at ‘B’, while maintaining a stable outlook, according to a statement from the ratings agency.
The affirmation indicates that Fitch sees Uganda’s credit profile as broadly consistent with its current rating, despite ongoing fiscal, external financing and economic challenges.
The stable outlook suggests that Fitch does not currently anticipate a significant change in Uganda’s sovereign creditworthiness over the near term.
