Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have introduced stricter travel requirements following confirmation that an Ebola case linked to the current outbreak reached France.
New regulations require individuals who have been exposed to confirmed or suspected Ebola cases to complete a 21-day monitoring period before travelling. Similar rules apply to health workers and response personnel returning from affected regions, while international travellers must complete health declaration forms before departure.
The outbreak involves the Bundibugyo strain of the virus, for which no approved vaccine or treatment currently exists.
