AngloGold Ashanti Q2 Profit Rises 58% on Higher Gold Prices

Friday, 31st July 2026

Johannesburg – AngloGold Ashanti reported a 58% increase in second-quarter profit, buoyed by stronger global gold prices that boosted earnings during the period.

The gold producer said on Friday that its headline earnings climbed to $1.01 billion for the three months ended June 30, compared with $639 million recorded in the corresponding period last year.

The robust performance underscores the benefit of elevated bullion prices, which have continued to support profitability for gold mining companies despite broader global economic uncertainty.

Higher gold prices have encouraged investor demand for the precious metal as a safe-haven asset, helping major producers strengthen their financial results.
