Tripoli—August 13, 2026 — Libya’s Sirte Oil Company has brought a new well at the Al-Hatiba gas field into production, adding 5 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) to the field’s output, according to National Oil Corporation (NOC) chief Masoud Suleman.Tripoli
The new well has lifted Al-Hatiba’s total production to more than 103 million cubic feet per day, strengthening Libya’s domestic gas supply.
Suleman said the additional production will help support gas supplies to an industrial complex and fertiliser plants, potentially improving feedstock availability for key industrial operations.
The development comes as Libya continues efforts to increase hydrocarbon production and strengthen domestic energy supplies through new wells and field development.
